Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a QC Inspector for mechanical, welding, and coating activities in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality inspections, maintain compliance with international standards, and have significant experience in quality control for offshore/onshore projects. Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in welding, painting, and quality control.
  • 5 years' experience on offshore/onshore oil and gas projects.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards.

Job description
QC Inspector - Mechanical / Welding / Coating

Location: UAE

Contract: Permanent / Full-time

Immediate joiners will be prioritised

Role Purpose

Ensure high-quality inspection and control of mechanical, welding, and coating activities for onshore and offshore oil and gas projects. Oversee NDT, welding, and coating inspections, and maintain compliance with project specifications and international standards.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent
  2. Certified in TWI (CSWIP 3.1) or AWS (CWI) for welding inspection
  3. BGAS/NACE Level II certification for coating inspections
  4. PCN or ASNT certification preferred for RT and UT NDT inspections
  5. Minimum 10 years' experience in welding, painting, and quality control for oil and gas projects, including 5 years on offshore/onshore projects
  6. Experience with fabrication, assembly, and welding of topsides, jackets, and piping
  7. Experience in inspection of exotic materials (e.g., Inconel, SDSS, Cladding)
  8. Pipeline welding inspection experience required for pipeline-focused roles
  9. Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, AWS, API, DNV, BS, ISO)
  10. Strong computer literacy and excellent written and spoken English, including technical reporting and QA/QC documentation
Key Responsibilities
  1. Inspect materials and monitor welding consumables and processes
  2. Witness procedure qualifications, welder qualifications, and performance tests
  3. Ensure calibration status of inspection, measuring, and test equipment
  4. Monitor, inspect, and approve welding and NDT works, including PWHT
  5. Review and approve radiographs and NDT reports; sign weld and NDT logs
  6. Perform dimensional control checks and review hydro-testing packages and punch‑list activities
  7. Prepare and maintain inspection reports, including daily, weekly, and monthly summaries
  8. Ensure all inspection activities comply with project procedures and quality requirements
