KOREAN TECHNO INSPECTION MIDDLE EAST Co. LLC is seeking an experienced Inspector for rotating equipment to perform quality surveillance and document review in Abu Dhabi.
The role requires adherence to approved ITPs, project specs, drawings, and international standards, with hands-on inspection of pumps, turbines, gearboxes, and related components. The ideal candidate should have 8+ years in oil & gas, petrochemical, or refinery inspection, strong knowledge of WPS/PQR, NDT, and welding records,
Perform inspection and quality surveillance of rotating equipment in accordance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), project specifications, drawings, procedures, and applicable codes and standards.
Inspect equipment such as:
Centrifugal pumps
Positive displacement pumps
Compressors
Gas turbines
Steam turbines
Expander turbines
Fans and blowers
Gearboxes
Agitators and mixers
Other packaged rotating equipment.
Review and verify vendor/manufacturer documentation, drawings, datasheets, specifications, inspection procedures, and quality plans.
Monitor manufacturing activities and ensure compliance with approved ITP, QCP, project specifications, and purchase orders.
Conduct inspection of materials, components, machining, assembly, alignment, balancing, and dimensional checks.
Witness and inspect FAT, mechanical run tests, performance tests, vibration tests, balancing tests, hydrostatic tests, and other applicable equipment testing.
Verify equipment condition, workmanship, dimensional accuracy, tolerances, and assembly requirements.
Inspect shafts, bearings, seals, couplings, impellers, casings, rotors, mechanical seals, lubrication systems, and associated components.
Review material certificates, test reports, calibration certificates, NDT reports, welding documentation, and other quality records.
Verify compliance of materials and components with approved specifications and applicable material standards.
Review and monitor NDT activities, where applicable, including RT, UT, MT, PT, and visual inspection.
Verify welding activities and associated WPS/PQR, welder qualifications, welding consumables, PWHT, and NDT records, where applicable to rotating equipment components.
Conduct dimensional inspection using appropriate measuring equipment and verify critical dimensions against approved drawings.
Monitor shaft alignment, coupling alignment, soft-foot checks, runout, clearances, and other critical inspection parameters.
Witness dynamic/static balancing activities and review balancing reports.
Inspect preservation, packing, storage, and protection of rotating equipment prior to shipment.
Participate in pre-inspection meetings, inspection coordination meetings, quality review meetings, and technical discussions with vendors and project teams.
Raise Inspection Reports, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Site Observation Reports (SORs), and Punch Lists where required.
Follow up on NCR closure, corrective actions, repair procedures, and re-inspection activities.
Review final manufacturing dossiers and ensure all required inspection and quality documentation is complete and traceable.
Ensure inspection activities comply with applicable ADNOC specifications, project requirements, approved procedures, and international standards.
Coordinate with QA/QC Engineers, client representatives, third-party inspectors, vendors, construction teams, and commissioning personnel.
Provide technical input regarding equipment defects, deviations, repairs, and acceptance criteria.
Ensure proper identification, traceability, and documentation of inspected equipment and components.
Support mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities as required.
Maintain accurate inspection records and submit daily/weekly inspection reports.
Desired Candidate Profile
Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 8 years of relevant inspection experience in:
Oil & Gas
Petrochemical
Refinery
Power
Heavy Industrial / EPC projects
Related process industries.
Strong experience in rotating equipment inspection.
Previous experience with major EPC contractors, manufacturers, inspection companies, or oil & gas operators is preferred.
ADNOC project experience is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of rotating equipment manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning inspection.
Good understanding of international codes, standards, specifications, and quality requirements.
Ability to independently review technical documentation and inspection records.
CERTIFICATIONS
