Job summary

A leading engineering firm based in Dubai is seeking a QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical responsible for ensuring compliance with mechanical construction and installation standards. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5 to 8 years of QA/QC experience, preferably in the UAE or Middle East. Key responsibilities include implementing quality management systems, conducting inspections, and preparing documentation to support project quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant QA/QC experience in mechanical works.
  • Prior experience in UAE / Middle East projects is preferred.
  • Certification in CSWIP / AWS / ASNT Level II is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the Project Quality Management System in line with ISO and client requirements.
  • Conduct inspections for mechanical works including piping, structural steel, tanks, and pressure vessels.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports and quality records.

Skills

QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical

Location: Dubai

Job Summary

The QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical construction, installation, fabrication, and commissioning activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and client quality requirements. The role involves inspection, documentation, coordination with project teams, and implementation of quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain the Project Quality Management System in line with ISO and client requirements
  • Review and approve mechanical drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and procedures
  • Conduct inspections for mechanical works including piping, structural steel, tanks, pressure vessels, rotating and static equipment
  • Monitor fabrication, installation, welding, and testing activities to ensure compliance with approved standards
  • Coordinate and witness NDT activities (RT, UT, PT, MT) and review test results
  • Ensure welding activities comply with approved WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, NCRs, punch lists, and quality records
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, third-party inspectors, and subcontractors on quality matters
  • Participate in internal audits, quality meetings, and site inspections
  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities from a QA/QC perspective
  • Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and closed effectively
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant QA/QC experience in mechanical works
  • Prior experience in UAE / Middle East projects preferred
  • Certification in CSWIP / AWS / ASNT Level II (RT, UT, MT, PT) is an advantage
Skills & Technical Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, API, ASTM, ISO)
  • Experience in piping systems, welding inspection, pressure testing, and mechanical installations
  • Proficiency in reviewing ITPs, method statements, drawings, and quality documentation
  • Familiarity with project quality documentation and handover dossiers
  • Good understanding of HSE and QA/QC compliance requirements
  • Strong coordination, reporting, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspection activities
