Duties and Responsibilities

As Purchasing Manager, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of the Purchasing function to provide exceptional products within brand operating standards. This includes the preparation and processing of requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment, as well as storage and stock takes.

The duties and responsibilities will include:

1. Source and purchase the most suitable products for the operation that are relevant and in line with Six Senses policies, plus wellness and sustainability practices.
2. Regularly review suppliers and contracts to ensure conformity with Six Senses requirements.
3. Conduct vendor and market assessments, ordering, stocktakes, and storage at required times to ensure all stock is available, of the right quality, and properly stored in line with Six Senses standards.
4. Implement a fair and transparent Vendor/Supplier Vetting process and hold vendors/suppliers accountable to Six Senses Sustainability and Eat With Six Senses guidelines.
5. Proactively engage in weekly Farmers Market visits and make purchasing trips to local farmers, bakers, and fishermen to support local community vendors/suppliers before choosing larger global vendors.
6. Visit vendor distribution centers, processing facilities, or places of business annually.
7. Ensure all policies, procedures, and best practices are in place and rigorously enforced.
8. Foster a cost-focused philosophy through training and education.
9. Operate the property in compliance with all legal, statutory, and financial requirements, including documentation, reporting systems, contractual obligations, security and safety protocols, communication standards, and budgetary controls.
10. Support the Director of Finance in achieving financial goals related to purchasing.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Purchasing Manager role, candidates must have the required qualifications, technical skills, and experience in a similar role within luxury hotels, with proven results. The requirements include:

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Materials or Purchasing Management, or a relevant field, plus three years of purchasing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference is given to candidates with more than three years' experience in a similar role.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is preferred as an additional language.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Dubai.
