Job summary

A renowned hospitality operator in Dubai is seeking a Purchasing & Cost Controller to oversee stock management and cost control activities. You will manage inventory records, conduct stock checks, and work closely with finance on cost reporting. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in hospitality, proven Oracle proficiency, and strong communication skills. Qualifications

  • Proficient using Oracle with advanced Excel skills and full Microsoft Office suite knowledge.

A Purchasing & Cost Controller at Majestas

As our Purchasing & Cost Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting stock management and cost control activities, from verifying delivery notes to conducting daily inventory checks. Working closely with the Finance and Operations teams, you will play a key role in monitoring food and beverage costs, analysing stock movements, and ensuring accurate inventory levels while actively contributing to cost optimisation across our operations.

Your day to day
  • Verify and submit approved delivery notes to the Accounts Department promptly.
  • Manage inventory records by conducting weekly food and beverage stock checks, involving relevant department heads and updating internal software.
  • Perform daily and end-of-month stock takes for the bar and beverage areas, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Forecast stock needs to prevent overstocking and shortages, following management guidelines.
  • Work closely with Management on weekly food and beverage cost reporting.
  • Enhance and set up processes to improve the margins of operational departmental costing related to food and beverages.
  • Source products locally and internationally at the best possible prices without compromising quality.
  • Track price changes for perishables and keep kitchen teams informed of fluctuations.
  • Address any quality issues with delivered goods promptly, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Support emergency orders and last-minute needs, including quality testing upon delivery.
Who are you?
  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role within hospitality and F&B environments.
  • Proficient using Oracle with advanced Excel skills and full Microsoft Office suite knowledge.
  • Excellent attention to detail and clear communication skills to effectively collaborate across operations departments.
  • Resourceful, proactive, and skilled in addressing and resolving challenges.
  • Strong command of English; proficiency in an additional European language is advantageous.
