Job description

We are looking for an experienced Purchaser-in-Charge to manage procurement operations for both Food & Beverage/ Galley (GAL) Provisions and Interiors (INT). The successful candidate will handle local and international sourcing, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and full compliance with HACCP food safety standards and marine industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily purchasing of F&B provisions (dry, frozen, chilled, and fresh products) and interior items (linen, housekeeping, and accommodation supplies).
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with local and international suppliers to ensure high-quality standards and competitive pricing.
  • Ensure all food purchases comply with HACCP and food safety requirements, including proper documentation and temperature control.
  • Oversee procurement of interior materials for vessel accommodation and crew areas, ensuring durability and marine-grade standards.
  • Coordinate closely with Operations Manager and warehouse, and logistics teams for timely delivery and efficient stock management.
  • Maintain updated vendor databases, monitor performance, and explore new product lines.
  • Track market trends, seasonal availability, and cost movements in both F&B and interior categories.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, verify invoices, and assist with budget planning and cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, quality control, and audit requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in purchasing/procurement, preferably within a ship chandling, marine supply, or catering company.
  • Strong background in F&B procurement and knowledge of interior supplies for vessels or hospitality projects.
  • Solid understanding of HACCP food safety systems and cold-chain management.
  • Strong supplier negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP purchasing systems.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • UAE driving license preferred
