Job summary

A leading logistics company based in Dubai is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to oversee procurement activities and vendor relationships. You will be responsible for negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and managing relationships with suppliers. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in engineering or Business Administration, has a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, and is preferably certified in CPP. This role is critical for ensuring product quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

  • Certification in CPP (Certified Purchasing Professional) is preferred.

Job description
Job Purpose:

Undertake purchase activities, tender and contract evaluation, place orders and monitor delivery to provide the right products and services across MSML business unit. Negotiate with various suppliers to obtain maximum discount without compromising quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process: Identify competitive sources of quality goods and services. Prepare and submit RFPs. Ensure proper negotiation of terms and pricing to approve, prepare and process purchase orders.
  • Compliance: Ensure purchase order compliance with procurement policies, procedures and communication protocols at all times and resolve discrepancies.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relations with vendors and service providers to ensure seamless business support.
  • Concepts and Policies: Adopt and apply new professional strategies and policies within the area of responsibility in accordance with management directions.
  • Leadership: Effectively supports employees to meet daily requirements/deadlines through addressing queries, resolving day to day work related issues and providing technical on-the-job training. Advises functional teams or projects on his/her area of specialization and is able to lead multidisciplinary projects or initiatives.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration or equivalent.
