Job description
Role Summary

The PR & Communications Manager is responsible for leading, owning, and scaling PR and Communications at MyWhoosh. This is a senior, high-trust role with responsibility for strategy, budget planning, agency management, and delivery of all PR and communications activity globally.

This role has a clear mandate to build and shape the PR & Communications function. The role holder will have full support from leadership to act decisively, grow the function, and genuinely own PR & Communications outcomes.

Reporting Line:

Director of Esports & Game Operations / Executive Leadership

Knowledge of cycling or minimum working in the sports space is highly preferred

Core Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership:
  • Develop and own MyWhoosh’s PR & Communications strategy aligned with overall business, marketing, and events strategy.
  • Define annual priorities, deliverables, and KPIs for PR & Communications.
  • Set and manage the PR & Communications budget (from 2026 onwards).
  • Act as the internal owner and decision-maker for all PR & Comms activity.
Organic PR & Media Relations:
  • Drive organic media coverage across cycling, esports, endurance sport, technology, and lifestyle media.
  • Build and manage trusted relationships with key global and regional media.
  • Manage inbound and outbound media queries and narratives.
  • Ensure consistent messaging, tone of voice, and brand positioning across markets.
Paid Media & Agency Management:
  • Define and execute paid media strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Appoint, brief, and manage PR agencies and paid media partners.
  • Lead monthly agency reviews, content approvals, and performance tracking.
  • Identify new media opportunities and emerging platforms in priority markets.
Cross-Functional Alignment:
  • Work closely with Marketing and Events to ensure full alignment on campaigns, launches, and major initiatives.
  • Lead PR & Communications planning and delivery for key global events (e.g. UCI, Triathlon, Esports).
  • Manage brand ambassador communications and ensure contractual deliverables are met.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Management:
  • Own PR and communications relationships with key stakeholders including UCI, federations, media, and partners.
  • Develop communications strategies that support partnership value and visibility.
New Markets & Media Development:
  • Develop PR and messaging strategies for new market entry aligned with business rationale.
  • Identify and build relationships with new regional and international media.
Monitoring & Reporting:
  • Oversee daily media monitoring across all markets.
  • Deliver concise monthly reports covering coverage, sentiment, reach, and impact.
  • Use insights to continuously refine strategy and messaging.
