Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead site operations for dewatering and pumping projects in Abu Dhabi. You will oversee multiple contracts from award through completion, directing project delivery, engineering supervision, team management, and health and safety.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong commercial and contractual control, and the ability to coordinate with clients, consultants, and suppliers to ensure safe, on-time project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Geotechnical/Geology, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering, construction, or related project management.
• Experience in dewatering, groundwater management, pumping, or related projects is preferred.
• Strong understanding of hydrogeology, engineering geology, or civil engineering principles.
• Fluent written and spoken English and a strong network in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all assigned Abu Dhabi dewatering and pumping contracts.
• Develop project programmes and ensure timely delivery within budget and contractual requirements.
• Plan manpower, plant, equipment, and other resources per project needs.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead site operations for dewatering and pumping projects in Abu Dhabi.

The role will oversee multiple contracts simultaneously, managing projects from contract award through completion. This is a hands‑on leadership position responsible for project delivery, engineering supervision, team management, commercial control, asset utilization, client relationships, and health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

• Lead and manage all assigned Abu Dhabi dewatering and pumping contracts.
  
• Develop project programmes and ensure timely project delivery within budget and contractual requirements.
  
• Plan and allocate manpower, plant, equipment, and other resources based on project requirements.
  
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where required.
  
• Ensure projects are delivered efficiently and in accordance with contractual obligations.
  

Engineering & Technical Supervision

• Prepare and approve method statements, risk assessments, project programmes, and safe systems of work.
  
• Ensure site activities are carried out in accordance with approved technical and safety requirements.
  
• Monitor and ensure accurate recording of site data, including as-built information, water levels, discharge flows, and other project measurements.
  
• Provide technical guidance to project and site teams.
  
• Manage engineers, foremen, chargehands, technicians, and other site personnel as assigned.
  
• Plan workforce schedules and ensure effective manpower deployment.
  
• Provide training, guidance, and technical support to team members.
  
• Conduct performance reviews and manage team performance effectively.
  
• Build a productive and accountable site team aligned with project requirements.
  

Commercial & Contractual Control

• Attend contractual and progress meetings with clients, consultants, and main contractors.
  
• Identify, prepare, and raise variations and claims where applicable.
  
• Maintain accurate site records, measurements, valuations, and supporting documentation.
  
• Monitor project costs and ensure commercial controls are maintained.
  
• Support timely invoicing and collection by ensuring accurate project documentation.
  

Asset & Equipment Management

• Coordinate with the Plant & Maintenance Manager to maximize the effective utilization of company equipment.
  
• Ensure proper deployment, operation, and maintenance of plant and equipment.
  
• Monitor materials and equipment issued to projects.
  
• Ensure materials are returned to the yard after project completion and identify any lost or damaged items for appropriate recovery or claims.
  

Business Development

• Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and identify new business opportunities.
  
• Promote company services to existing and prospective clients.
  
• Support the growth of the company's Oil & Gas, Industrial, Dewatering, and Pump Rental business in Abu Dhabi.
  
• Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
  

Health, Safety & Environment

• Ensure the safety of employees, subcontractors, third parties, and the public across all project activities.
  
• Work closely with the HSSE team to maintain high safety standards.
  
• Promote near‑miss reporting and proactive safety practices.
  
• Ensure compliance with applicable HSE procedures, regulations, and site requirements.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Geotechnical/Geology, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering , or a related discipline.
  
• Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering, construction, or related project management.
  
• Experience in dewatering, groundwater management, pumping, or related projects is preferred.
  
• Good understanding of hydrogeology, engineering geology, or civil engineering principles.
  
• Strong network of clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers in Abu Dhabi.
  
• Experience dealing with Abu Dhabi authority approvals, including discharge permits, is preferred.
  
• Strong project planning, commercial, contractual, and cost‑control skills.
  
• PMP certification would be an advantage.
  
• Valid GCC Driving Licence .
  
• Fluent written and spoken English.
  
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
  
• Willingness to take a hands‑on approach to project and site management.
