Job summary

NOV in Dubai seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead complex pump package projects across Reciprocating, PCP, MPP and ALS systems. You will own end-to-end delivery, coordinating engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing, and commissioning with strict adherence to contract, scope, schedule, budget and NOV standards.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation / Process Engineering or related field with 8 years of project eng./package execution experience.
  • 5 years minimum in Pump / Process package project execution / project management.
  • Strong knowledge of Pumps, engines, motors, gearboxes, couplings and related systems.
  • Knowledge of API/ASME/ATEX/DNV/CE requirements and package design.
  • Experience with VFD/PLC automation and control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex pump package projects from kick-off through close-out, coordinating Sales, Finance, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, Service, vendors and customers.
  • Own end-to-end delivery in line with contract, scope, schedule, budget, quality, HSE and customer expectations.
  • Develop and maintain MS Project schedules, risk registers and change logs; monitor progress and costs; take corrective action as needed.
  • Coordinate interfaces across engineering, procurement, manufacture, inspection and logistics to align with project priorities.
  • Lead meetings with internal teams, vendors and customers to ensure progress and timely issue resolution.

Job Description

Independently lead the execution of complex and strategically important pump package projects across the NOV Production and Midstream Technology portfolio, including Reciprocating, PCP, MPP, and ALS systems. Accountable for delivering projects in accordance with contractual requirements, approved scope, schedule, budget, and NOV quality, HSE, and compliance standards, while meeting customer expectations and business objectives.

Serve as the focal point for technical, commercial, and execution activities, coordinating cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to manage risk, control change, resolve issues, and ensure successful project delivery. Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team capability by sharing technical expertise and providing informal guidance to colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Lead complex pump package projects from handover / LOI / purchase order award through engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing, shipment, commissioning support and close-out, coordinating Sales, Finance, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, Service, vendors and customers.
  • Act as the primary technical and execution focal point, taking ownership of end-to-end delivery in line with contract, scope, schedule, budget, quality, HSE and customer expectations.
  • Develop and maintain MS Project schedules, VDRL / deliverables registers, risk registers, action trackers, Materials tracking, change logs and close-out plans.
  • Monitor progress, cost exposure, milestones, invoicing alignment, forecast, risk and change control. Take corrective action to protect plans and budgets.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, manufacture, inspection, documentation and logistics interfaces in line with project priorities and shop load plans.
  • Lead kick-off, technical clarification, design review, progress review and phase review meetings with internal teams, vendors and customers. Escalate critical issues and drive closure.
  • Review drawings, vendor documents and package documentation for completeness, compliance and readiness for manufacture, testing and delivery.
  • Identify and manage technical, schedule, commercial, supply chain and HSE risks. Maintain mitigation plans and drive timely action closure.
  • Manage change requests, deviations, concessions and scope variations in line with contract terms and internal approvals, including assessment of commercial impact.
  • Support Proposals / Sales on critical opportunities by providing technical, execution and schedule input and ensuring effective handover of awarded orders.
  • Maintain effective customer communication, provide timely status updates, manage expectations and resolve issues to support customer satisfaction.
  • Perform vendor visits, site inspections and FAT / witness testing / commissioning support as required.
  • Resolve operational and technical issues, minimize delays and unexpected cost impact, and support lessons learned, continuous improvement and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with company and corporate policies, HSE requirements, quality procedures and contractual / legal requirements.
  • Ensure projects meet applicable international standards such as ISO, API 674 / 676, ASME, ATEX, DNV, CE Marking and functional safety SIL.
  • Responsible for project close-out including final documentation, invoicing support, handovers, MDR dossier completion, warranty interfaces and management reviews.

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical principles and equipment operation, mentor junior team members and support best practices
Experience/Education/Skill-set Required

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation / Process Engineering or related engineering field with 8 years of relevant project engineering / package execution experience
  • 5 years minimum in Pump / Process package project execution / project management field
  • Strong knowledge of Pumps, diesel / gas engines, Motors, Gearboxes, couplings, belt drives, hydraulic / pneumatic systems, instrumentation and control panels
  • Strong knowledge of ATEX / ANSI / API / ASME pipes, flanges, fittings and package requirements
  • Capable of managing multiple projects, vendor interfaces and proposal-to-project handover
  • Strong knowledge of General Arrangement, P&ID, Instrumentation, Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electrical schemes
  • Understanding of electrical installations, VFD, PLC, Soft starter and package automation concepts
  • Experience with API 674, API 676, reciprocating, PCP, centrifugal and horizontal pump packages
  • Working knowledge of Internal Combustion Engine, drive arrangements, Transmission, gear reducer, coupling and belt drive selection knowledge
  • Experience and knowledge of VFD / PLC automation control systems
  • Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office applications and project reporting tools)
Desirable
  • 10+ years in complex pump package projects and cross-functional execution
  • Professional project management qualification preferred (e.g. PMP)
  • Good knowledge of skid fabrication and packaging for Pump Packages for Oil & Gas sector
  • Oil & Gas equipment packaging experience in the Middle East
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD & 3D solid modeling
  • Experience in ERP systems – JDE, CRM, SAP & Oracle
  • Experience supporting techno-commercial clarifications / deviations and proposal handover
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • Knowledge of specific design codes, EC Directives and CE Marking, API 674 / 676, ASME VIII, ASME B31.3, NACE MR-0175, ATEX and DNV requirements
  • Experience in ERP systems – JDE, CRM, SAP & Oracle
  • Knowledge of project scheduling / reporting tools and document control workflows
  • Knowledge and experience working with ISO / API and customer specifications
  • Ability to support continuous improvement and standard template development
  • Ability to provide guidance and assistance to peers to support common business goals
