Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced Project Controls Engineer based in Abu Dhabi to lead budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for its PMC projects. This fully office-based role focuses on robust cost control, schedule integration and KPI reporting.

You will coordinate with Finance, HR and Project teams, manage invoicing and contractual requirements, and drive continuous improvement in project performance using tools like Primavera P6, MS Project and Power BI.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
  • 5–6 years of project controls experience in EPC/construction.
  • Strong scheduling, cost control, and reporting.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 and MS Project for scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly invoicing for PMC projects.
  • Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cash flows.
  • Produce CVR/PMR and KPI dashboards.
  • Monitor variances and provide corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with SAP/Oracle and other systems.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and audits.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the monthly invoicing process for assigned PMC projects
  • Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and financial projections
  • Prepare monthly CVR and PMR, including revenue, gross margin, accruals, and provisions
  • Monitor project financial performance and analyze variances against budget and forecast
  • Prepare and maintain project cash flow forecasts and revenue projections
  • Maintain invoicing registers and ensure timely invoice submission and payment follow‑up
  • Process and administer financial transactions within SAP/Oracle and other company financial systems
  • Coordinate contractual insurance requirements, including Workmen’s Compensation, Professional Indemnity, and Third-Party Liability
  • Coordinate PBG requirements, renewals, and tracking
  • Maintain and administer the PMC Contract Schedule of Fees and commercial rates
  • Support contract amendments, variation orders, and commercial change management
  • Reconcile manpower and commercial data to ensure accurate client billing
  • Prepare commercial reports, dashboards, and KPIs
  • Coordinate with Finance, Commercial, HR, Payroll, and Project Teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Maintain commercial records and support internal and external audits
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities and recommend mitigation measures
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, company procedures, and client financial processes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–6 years of experience in Project Controls within EPC, construction, engineering consultancy, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong experience in project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, cost control, and reporting.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project for project scheduling and control.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Experience in preparing and analyzing project schedules, S-curves, resource loading, cash flow forecasts, and performance reports.
  • Familiarity with project control methodologies, earned value management (EVM), KPI tracking, and risk assessment.
  • Ability to review project progress, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycles, contractual requirements, and change management processes
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently in an office-based environment while supporting multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, SAP, Oracle, or other reporting tools is an added advantage.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal; Arabic language skills are a plus.
