Job summary

Siemens Energy in the Middle East is seeking a Finance Controller with 5–7 years of project-controlling experience to lead ERP/SAP implementation activities, strengthen data integrity, and drive financial governance across projects.

The role combines data stewardship, forecasting, reporting, and collaboration with the central accounting team to ensure FRG compliance and optimized project performance. A CPA/CIMA/ACCA background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA/CIMA/ACCA certifications are highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of FRGs and financial reporting guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key user/data steward for ERP/SAP implementation in finance and controlling; lead data validation and cleansing for migration.
• Support digitalization of financial controlling and reporting environments; contribute to process optimization.
• Provide user training and support during go-live; manage targeted project financial results (revenue, costs, gross profit, cash flow).
• Oversee month-end and year-end forecasting, planning, and closing; prepare budgets and variances.
• Generate regular business reports on overall performance and key financial KPIs; conduct balance sheet reviews for critical items.
• Ensure quality control over all financial transactions and reporting; coordinate with central accounting on FRGs.

This role is being added to the Commercial Project Management team in the Middle East to serve as a financial subject matter expert for the new ARODA ERP system implementation. Following the successful implementation phase, this position will be permanently absorbed into the Commercial Project Management (CPM) organization to support ongoing onshore projects.

To meet this dual objective, the role is structured around two primary functions: first, acting as a key user and data steward during the ERP implementation to ensure financial and controlling integrity, and second, performing comprehensive project controlling duties.

This includes financial forecasting, reporting, and analysis for the Gas Services business. Given the focus on both system implementation and financial governance, the ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in project controlling within a project-based business. A strong background in ERP/SAP systems, particularly implementation, is critical, complemented by a degree in Finance or Accounting and relevant professional certifications.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Act as a key user and/or data steward for the implementation of ERP/SAP systems (S4E Unify / AGORA) in the finance and controlling domain. Lead monthly and quarterly data validation and cleansing activities in collaboration with various departments to ensure data integrity for migration.
• Support the digitalization of financial controlling and reporting environments by contributing to conceptual work and process optimization.
• Provide user training and support to the finance community during and after the system go-live. Manage and analyze targeted financial results for projects, including revenue, costs, gross profit, and cash flow, ensuring adherence to Financial Reporting Guidelines (FRG).
• Oversee the month-end and year-end forecasting, planning, and closing processes, preparing budgets and reporting on variances.
• Generate regular business reports on overall performance and key financial KPIs for management review. Conduct periodic balance sheet reviews for critical items such as accounts receivable, inventories, contract assets/liabilities, and provisions.
• Ensure quality control over all financial transactions and financial reporting activities. Coordinate with the central accounting team to understand and implement newly issued or changed Financial Reporting Guidelines (FRGs) and assess their business impact.
• Perform regular 'lessons learned' analyses on project financial performance and feed results into process improvement initiatives. Support ad-hoc analyses and special projects as requested by management.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 5-7 years of experience as a Finance Controller, preferably in a project-driven environment.
• Demonstrated experience with ERP/SAP systems, with implementation experience being highly advantageous.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
• Expertise in Financial Management & Analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and a strong understanding of accounting principles (FRGs).
• Skilled in Project & Process Management, with experience in project implementation, risk management, process improvement, and workflow management.
• Strong technical and behavioral skills, including ERP/SAP proficiency, change management experience, accountability, and effective influencing skills.
