Job summary

Progressive GE in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Project Engineer / Project Assistant on a 6-month contract. The role focuses on electrical & oil & gas projects in the UAE, with hybrid work options and a start date ASAP.

You will support a junior professional track, coordinating documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communications about project delivery and records. A UAE presence is required with strong organizational skills and an engineering background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 2–5 years' experience in a junior Project Engineer/Coordinator role.
• Experience in UAE oil & gas sector, ideally ADNOC.
• Knowledge of LV switchgear and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with document control processes.

Project Engineer / Project Assistant - 6 month contract assignment

Applicants should already be located inside the UAE and be available to join at very short notice

Work Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE (Hybrid available - for example; 3 days office, 2 days WFH or similar)

Duration: 6-month contract with strong potential for permanent employment based on performance and business order book.

Start Date: ASAP

Estimated Salary: AED 10K to 14K per month (full cash package) + Medical Insurance + Annual Flight Ticket (if applicable after 12 months) + Visa

About the Role

We are seeking a Project Engineer / Project Assistant to join an experienced team supporting electrical and oil & gas projects across the UAE and the wider GCC region. This role is ideal for a junior level professional with electrical background and oil and gas exposure in the UAE who is looking to develop their career within an exciting business.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 2-5 years' experience (no more than 8 years total career experience) in a Project Engineer, Project Assistant, Project Coordinator, Document Controller, or junior Project Management role
• Experience within the UAE oil & gas sector, ideally supporting ADNOC or similar clients
• Sound knowledge of LV Switchgear and electrical systems
• Experience working with electrical industry leaders or suppliers to the oil & gas sector
• Understanding of Middle East project execution and document control processes
• Strong communication and organizational skills
