Description
The Production Manager (Joinery) will lead the joinery workshop operations end-to-end, from technical drawings through manufacturing, finishing, and installation. The role will ensure high-quality output, on-time and on-budget delivery, efficient resource utilisation, and continuous improvement within a dynamic residential, commercial and hospitality fit-out environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Control
- Develop daily/weekly production schedules including cutting lists and job orders based on approved drawings, BOQs and project plans.
- Coordinate production resources (manpower, tooling, materials) to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Review shop drawings, technical drawings and material specifications before execution.
- Manufacturing & Workshop Management
- Oversee workshop operations: fabrication, assembly, finishing of joinery items (doors, wardrobes, kitchens, wall panelling etc).
- Monitor machine/equipment uptime, arrange maintenance and ensure safe functioning of tools and machinery.
- Ensure raw material usage is optimised, minimise waste and control cost of production.
- Quality Assurance & Delivery
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures at every production stage; conduct inspections and track corrective actions.
- Work closely with design, procurement and site teams to ensure seamless installation and handover.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor and manage carpenters, machinists, polishers and workshop supervisors; set performance targets and monitor productivity.
- Conduct training on safety protocols, production standards and best practice.
- Coordination, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Liaise with project managers and site teams to align production with project needs and highlight any schedule or quality risk.
- Prepare production performance reports: material consumption, manpower utilisation, cost/waste metrics, delivery status.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives: introduce new processes, materials, tooling or workflows for higher efficiency and quality.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Wood Technology, Industrial Engineering, Interior Design or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in joinery or woodworking production management, ideally within UAE or GCC fit-out/interior manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of joinery manufacturing: solid wood, veneers, laminates, MDF, finishing techniques, hardware and fitting systems.
- Proven experience managing workshop operations, reading technical drawings and delivering multiple joinery/fit-out projects to high-end specifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills; able to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with AutoCAD, ERP/production planning tools preferred.
- Strong focus on quality, cost control, safety and timely delivery.
