Job Summary
The Production Engineer – E&I for Offshore and Fabrication operations at Lamprell is responsible for supporting the execution of E&I construction, installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities across offshore platforms, jack‑up rigs, and yard‑based EPC projects. The role ensures all electrical and instrumentation works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and Class/Client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Offshore & Yard Production Support
- Provide daily technical support for all E&I activities during fabrication, module assembly, rig refurbishment, and offshore installation.
- Ensure E&I works follow project plans, IFC drawings, specifications, and QA/QC procedures.
- Coordinate with supervisors, foremen, and production teams to ensure work progress meets schedule targets.
- Support offshore hook‑up and commissioning teams during mobilization and execution.
Electrical & Instrumentation Construction
- Supervise installation of electrical systems:
- Power distribution (LV/MV)
- Switchboards, MCCs, transformers
- Lighting & small power
- Earthing & bonding systems
- Oversee installation and testing of instrumentation systems:
- Pressure/temperature/flow/level instruments
- Control valves & actuators
- Fire & gas systems
- I/O assignments and loop checks
- Verify cable routing, glanding/termination, tray installation, and junction box works.
Testing, Pre‑Commissioning & Commissioning
- Support FAT, SAT, pre‑commissioning, loop testing, and functional testing of E&I systems.
- Participate in energization activities, ensuring all safety protocols (LOTO, PTW) are followed.
- Prepare test reports, red‑line markups, and as‑built documentation.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with offshore safety standards (ADNOC, Aramco, IOGP as applicable).
- Ensure all E&I activities adhere to Class requirements (ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register).
- Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety audits.
- Ensure safe work practices during electrical and hazardous area activities (ATEX, IECEx).
Documentation, Planning & Coordination
- Review E&I drawings (SLDs, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, PIDs, layouts).
- Support planning for manpower, materials, consumables, and equipment.
- Coordinate with QA/QC, engineering, procurement, and subcontractors.
- Track progress and submit daily/weekly production reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or Electronics & Instrumentation.
Experience
- 5–10 years of E&I experience in offshore facilities, EPC, oil & gas fabrication yards, or rig construction/refurbishment.
- Experience working with rig upgrades, topsides, modules, or offshore platforms (preferred for Lamprell).
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- Offshore electrical systems (LV/MV), hazardous area classifications
- Instrument loops, calibration, and field installation
- PLC, SCADA, and control system integration
- Fire & Gas, ESD, BMS systems
- Cable management, termination standards, and testing
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings: SLDs, PIDs, ILDs, hook‑up drawings.
