Job summary

Planting is seeking a software scientist to turn research into commercial products and deliver robust features for finance and scientific analysis. You will collaborate with the product team to define features, write design docs, and ensure user-focused implementations.

Responsibilities include building high-performance code, developing demonstration use-cases, and addressing system limitations across quantitative domains such as financial analysis and physics simulation.

Qualifications

• Experience turning research software into commercial products.
• Applied mathematical modeling in finance or scientific applications.
• Experience in collaborative commercial software environments (CI/CD, testing, code reviews).
• Strong foundation in computer science algorithms and data structures.
• Proficiency in Julia, Rust, OCaml, Clojure, C++, or Haskell.
• Experience with profiling and performance optimization.
• Advanced degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Statistics.

Responsibilities

• Work with the product team to define new features
• Define implementation strategies and collaborate on implementation
• Deliver features with a user-oriented mindset
