Job summary

Salt is seeking aProduct Manager (Business Applications) to lead a portfolio of critical applications in the UAE's aviation and logistics ecosystem. This senior, hands-on role connects technology strategy with operational priorities, shaping roadmaps and modernising the technology estate.

You will own strategy, releases and service performance, while building scalable application-support aligned with ITSM governance and proactive improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience managing enterprise or mission-critical business applications.
• Strong ITSM knowledge and governance experience.
• Experience with APIs, cloud platforms and data environments.
• Experience leading application-support functions is a plus.

Product Manager - Business Applications – Aviation / Transportation / Logistics

12-Month Contract - Extendable

Salt is partnering with a major organisation operating within the UAE’s aviation and logistics ecosystem to appoint an experienced Product Manager (Business Applications).

This is a senior, hands‑on technology leadership role with ownership of a portfolio of business‑critical applications supporting complex, high‑volume operations. You will connect technology strategy with operational priorities—shaping the applications roadmap, strengthening service delivery and driving the modernisation of the wider technology estate.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the strategy, performance and full lifecycle of critical business applications.
• Translate operational requirements into clear product roadmaps, prioritised backlogs and investment cases.
• Lead application change, release and configuration management within an established governance framework.
• Develop a scalable application‑support operating model aligned with ITSM best practice.
• Improve service performance through proactive monitoring, root‑cause analysis, knowledge management and continuous improvement.
• Guide application architecture, integration and data alignment across cloud, API and middleware environments.
• Partner closely with infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, data and operational teams.
• Manage strategic technology vendors, contracts, service levels and commercial performance.
• Identify opportunities to simplify the application landscape, improve resilience and reduce overall technology costs.
• Use automation, AI, process mining and RPA to remove manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Lead discovery sessions and innovation initiatives, taking new ideas from concept through to proof of value.

What we’re looking for

• 7+ years of experience managing enterprise or mission‑critical business applications.
• Strong industry experience within aviation, airports, cargo, ground handling, logistics, transportation or another complex 24/7 operational environment.
• Proven ownership of application strategy, roadmaps, releases, service performance and ongoing improvement.
• Experience establishing or leading an application‑support function.
• Strong understanding of IT service management, SLAs, OLAs and operational governance.
• Knowledge of modern application integration, APIs, cloud platforms and enterprise data environments.
• Demonstrable experience managing technology vendors, contracts and commercial performance.
• Confidence engaging with senior executives, technology leaders and frontline operational teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology or a related discipline.
• ITIL certification is strongly preferred; PMP, Agile or SAFe qualifications would be advantageous.
