DBS Emirates Hills Curriculum

Our curriculum is modelled on the National Curriculum for England and adapted to our own international context, leading to a challenging set of GCSE, BTEC and GCE A Level courses from Year 10 to Year 13. We feel the opportunities that students enjoy outside the classroom are just as important as the main curriculum and we offer an extensive and varied Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) programme.

Key Accountabilities

Purchasing

  • Achieve optimal value for money whilst maintaining high standards.
  • Enhancement of procurement and sourcing strategies.
  • Assist in the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors, to promote good procurement practice with due regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards and cost analysis.
  • Work with internal stakeholders (teachers or operations staff) to determine procurement needs, ensure high quality standards are maintained and manage delivery requirements.
  • Responsible for order placement timing, supply/demand alignment, material replenishment and supplier performance.
  • Monitor, evaluate and improve supplier performance, according to an appropriate Service Level Agreement, on a continuous basis.
  • Payment terms negotiation, optimization and management.
  • Receive orders for various departments.
  • Initiate and keep track of orders.
  • Reconcile or resolve order discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Coordinate annual overseas orders.
  • Accounts to be submitted for payment to vendors on time.
  • Receiving and Closing all purchase orders within vendor payment terms.
  • Asset Management and control.

Finance

  • Oversee and manage the procurement processes.
  • Monitor expenditure and income generation.
  • Provide regular financial reports as required.
  • Ensure optimal use of budgets.
  • Provide all information required by the internal and external auditors.
  • Ensure all procurement is in line with the approved policies and procedures.

Person Specification

Education: Degree in Business Management or similar accounting qualification

Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar role
