Job summary

A real estate consultancy is seeking a Procurement Officer to manage sourcing and purchasing for its construction projects. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in the construction industry, excellent negotiation and vendor management skills, and a Bachelor's degree in a related field. The role includes developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with procurement processes. Familiarity with ERP systems is preferred. This position is based in Dubai, UAE.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of construction materials, finishing items, and MEP equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple procurement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare RFQs/RFPs and analyze bids for management review.
  • Assist in drafting and managing purchase agreements.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain procurement records.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors.
  • Liaise with project teams to understand material requirements.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and detailoriented Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing and purchasing of materials services and equipment for our real estate development and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in the construction and real estate industry excellent negotiation skills and a deep understanding of vendor management cost control and procurement compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets.
  • Supplier Sourcing & Evaluation: Identify evaluate and qualify reliable suppliers and subcontractors for construction materials MEP supplies finishing items and professional services.
  • Quotation & Tendering: Prepare RFQs/RFPs analyze bids conduct negotiations and prepare comparative statements for management review.
  • Contract Management: Assist in drafting and managing purchase agreements service contracts and longterm supplier agreements.
  • Purchase Orders & Logistics: Issue POs track deliveries and coordinate with logistics and site teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and control procurement budgets ensuring optimal pricing without compromising quality.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all procurement processes adhere to company policies ISO standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate procurement records.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with vendors to secure favorable terms and resolve any supply issues or disputes.
  • Coordination with Site Teams: Liaise with project managers engineers and quantity surveyors to understand material requirements and project specifications.
  • Inventory Monitoring: Work with storekeepers to track stock levels and reorder supplies as needed to prevent delays.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Supply Chain Management Business Administration or a related field.
  • 35 years of procurement experience in the construction or real estate development industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials finishing items and MEP equipment.
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage vendors effectively.
  • Familiarity with procurement software (ERP systems like Oracle SAP or similar).
  • Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of local and international suppliers is a plus.
  • UAE driving license preferred (if applicable).
