What you'll be doing:

The Procurement Manager Role Purpose: to lead and manage the procurement of facilities management services and categories, including hard and soft services, ensuring optimal value, cost-efficiently and service quality. The role involves developing and executing category strategies, identifying cost saving opportunities, managing supplier relationships and ensuring procurement align with business goals. The manager will work cross functionally with internal stakeholders to achieve long term sourcing strategies that deliver value, reduce risk and ensure the supply of quality goods and services.

Job Description

Managing: Facilities Management

• Develop and implement category management plans across assigned spend areas, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term procurement strategies
• Identify and lead cost optimization initiatives, including supplier rationalization, contract renegotiation, and process improvements to drive savings and value creation
• Conduct market analysis to understand supply market dynamics, trends, and risks, and use this insight to inform category strategies
• Lead the strategic sourcing process, including RFx development, supplier selection, negotiation, and contract execution
• Undertake supplier negotiations, recommend supplier selections and implement contract
• Manage key supplier relationships, driving performance through service level agreements (SLAs) and continuous improvement initiative
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement needs are met, including ensuring the right balance of cost, quality, and delivery
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards, while monitoring regulatory changes that may affect procurement activities
• Track and report on procurement performance metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and risk management
• Manage supplier performance on key critical projects to ensure optimum performance and delivery against contractual obligations
• Utilize cost management techniques and initiatives and drive cost saving strategic initiatives to ensure GMG achieves best value
• Research and implement new concepts and innovative products
• Forecast price and review market trends
• Actively monitor external business environment and be aware of the changes in the inflationary and purchasing environment for categories under management
• Category management – develop and execute category strategies for FM services like maintenance, cleaning, HVAC, FF-FA, MEP services, landscaping and waste management.
• Lead sourcing for Repair and Maintenance across the company.

People Management

• Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance on best practices and category management techniques
• Oversee the performance and development of team members, ensuring they have the skills and tools needed to succeed
• Set SMART objectives for the team and provide regular and objective feedback on the performance

Functional Technical/ Competencies

• In-depth knowledge of category management, sourcing, and procurement strategies
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify cost optimization and value creation opportunities
• Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
• Advanced data analysis and market research skills for informed decision-making
• Proficiency in procurement systems and ERP platforms for category management and reporting
