Job summary

VHR Global Technical Recruitment is seeking a Principal Quality Assurance Engineer for an aerospace client in Dubai, focusing on Software QA (DO-178C) and Hardware Process Assurance (DO-254).

You will lead QA activities, develop plans, and mentor engineers, supporting DO-178C/DO-254 delivery and regulatory audits with EASA, FAA and GCAA in an early-stage eVTOL programme.

Qualifications

• Must have DO-178C Software Quality Assurance delivery on certified aerospace programmes.
• Must have DO-254 Hardware Process Assurance delivery on certified aerospace programmes.
• Experience supporting regulatory audits by EASA FAA GCAA and similar authorities.
• Strong understanding of ARP4754 and AS9100 in civil certification contexts.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead Software Quality Assurance activities in accordance with DO-178C.
• Lead Hardware Process Assurance activities in accordance with DO-254.
• Develop and maintain QA plans for software and hardware processes.
• Conduct audits across software and hardware lifecycles.

Principal Quality Assurance Engineer – Software & Hardware Process Assurance

Location: Dubai, UAE

Full-Time | eVTOL / Advanced Air Mobility

Our prestigious aerospace client is developing a next-generation eVTOL aircraft and is seeking an experienced Principal Quality Assurance Engineer to establish and lead Software Quality Assurance and Hardware Process Assurance activities across a civil certification programme.

This is a unique opportunity to join at an early stage of development, taking ownership of quality assurance processes that will support aircraft certification while helping build and shape the future Quality function.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Software Quality Assurance activities in accordance with DO-178C.
• Lead Hardware Process Assurance activities in accordance with DO-254.
• Develop and maintain Software QA and Hardware Process Assurance Plans.
• Conduct process and product audits across the software and hardware lifecycle.
• Support certification audits with regulatory authorities including EASA, FAA and GCAA.
• Ensure compliance with approved development plans, standards and certification requirements.
• Oversee supplier quality assurance activities and process compliance.
• Support configuration management, change control and tool qualification activities.
• Develop QA processes, templates and best practices across the engineering organisation.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the growth of the Quality Assurance team.
• Degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Electronic, Software or Systems Engineering (or equivalent).
• Significant experience delivering DO-178C Software Quality Assurance and/or DO-254 Hardware Process Assurance on certified aerospace programmes.
• Strong understanding of software and hardware lifecycle assurance, conformity reviews and certification evidence.
• Experience supporting regulatory audits and certification programmes.
• Working knowledge of ARP4754, AS9100 and civil aircraft certification frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience within eVTOL, Advanced Air Mobility, UAV or fly-by-wire aircraft programmes.
• Knowledge of DO-330 Tool Qualification and DO-331 Model-Based Development.
• Previous experience mentoring or leading engineering quality teams.
