Job summary

Edge Group in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Principal Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance, reliability, and upgrades of advanced radar and EW systems. You will direct teams of engineers, technicians, and specialists in RF, microwave, and digital signal processing to maximize uptime and readiness.

The role requires 10–15 years in radar/EW maintenance, a degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, knowledge of MIL-STD standards, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of experience in maintenance and deployment of radar or EW systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering; Master or PhD advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of RF principles and radar theory (phased array, AESA).
• Proficiency with maintenance software and tools.
• Experience on military, civilian or aviation radar and communication systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to optimize complex systems.
• High attention to detail with the ability to innovate and improve system performance.

• Technical Oversight: Direct root-cause failure analyses to troubleshoot hardware, software, or calibration issues.
• Compliance & Safety: Enforce MIL-STD and safety regulations for high-voltage and RF zones.
• Systems Integration: Coordinate installation, testing, and calibration of new radar installations and upgrades to legacy systems.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Principal Maintennace Manager is a senior technical leadership role overseeing the maintenance, reliability, and operational readiness of advanced radar and EW systems. You’ll lead specialized engineering and technical teams, drive preventive maintenance and root-cause analysis, and oversee system upgrades, integration, and calibration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Strategic Planning: Develop long-term reliability programs and preventive maintenance (PM) schedules to maximize radar uptime and minimize unexpected operational downtime.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor a team of engineers, technicians, and mechanics specialized in microwave, RF (radio frequency), and digital signal processing systems.
• Budget Management: Oversee departmental budgets, forecast CapEx for major hardware upgrades, and manage supplier or vendor contracts for specialized radar components.
• Technical Oversight: Direct root-cause failure analyses to quickly troubleshoot hardware, software, or calibration anomalies and restore operational status.
• Compliance & Safety: Enforce rigorous safety regulations, defense standards (e.g., MIL-STD), and quality control protocols for high-voltage and RF radiation zones.
• Systems Integration: Coordinate the installation, testing, and calibration of new radar installations and legacy upgrades.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in maintenance and deployment of radar or EW systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Master or PhD are advantageous
• Strong knowledge of RF principles and radar theory, including phased array and AESA technology
• Proficiency with maintenance software and tools
• Experience on military, civilian or aviation radar and communication systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimize complex systems.
• High attention to detail with the ability to innovate and improve system performance.
