Job summary

Inception42, a G42 company, seeks a Principal Frontend Engineer to set technical direction for frontend systems behind production AI products and platforms. You will remain hands-on while guiding architecture, design systems, performance, and reliability across teams, collaborating with Product, Design, Backend, AI/ML, Security, and Platform Engineering.

Qualifications

• Strong frontend engineering fundamentals across JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, browser behavior, accessibility, and responsive design.
• Experience shipping and operating complex production applications with React and Next.js; exposure to Angular or comparable frameworks is valuable.
• Demonstrated ability to make architecture decisions across large frontend codebases and multi-team delivery environments.
• Practical experience building design systems and reusable component libraries with clear APIs and governance.
• Strong understanding of SSR, SSG, client rendering, hydration, caching, performance profiling, and Core Web Vitals.
• Experience with state-management patterns and integration across REST, GraphQL, WebSockets, or event‑driven services.
• A disciplined approach to automated testing using tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Sound judgment across security, reliability, maintainability, developer experience, and delivery speed.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale reusable component libraries and design systems that improve product consistency, accessibility, and delivery speed.
• Drive performance engineering across rendering, Core Web Vitals, profiling, code splitting, caching, and bundle optimization.
• Guide integration with REST APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, server‑sent events, and event‑driven backend services.
• Define frontend testing strategy across unit, integration, component, end‑to‑end, and visual regression coverage.
• Improve frontend observability, reliability, and operational readiness through telemetry, error monitoring, and service‑level thinking.
• Embed secure development practices across authentication, authorization, dependency management, browser security, and API consumption.
• Strengthen CI/CD and release workflows for frontend applications, including automated quality gates and repeatable deployment patterns.
• Lead architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design discussions; mentor senior engineers and grow frontend leadership.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to make pragmatic technical decisions that improve customer outcomes.
