About the Role

We are seeking a Security Design Consultant with proven expertise in conducting Security Threat & Risk Assessments (STRA) and developing integrated security designs for complex built environments. The ideal candidate will bridge risk analysis and technical design, ensuring security is embedded seamlessly into architectural, engineering, and operational frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
Security Threat & Risk Assessment
  • Lead and deliver STRA for projects such as mixed‑use developments, transportation hubs, hospitality, critical infrastructure, and high‑security facilities.
  • Identify and assess threats, vulnerabilities, and potential impacts across physical, operational, and electronic security domains.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies aligned with international best practices (ISO 31000, ISO 22341, ASIS standards).
  • Facilitate risk workshops with stakeholders and produce clear, actionable STRA reports.
Security Design for Built Environment
  • Translate STRA findings into security design requirements, performance criteria, and technical specifications.
  • Develop integrated physical and electronic security solutions, including:
    • Access control
    • CCTV and surveillance
    • Intrusion detection
    • Perimeter security
    • Hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM)
    • Emergency response planning.
  • Ensure designs are coordinated with architects, master planners, MEP, ICT, and landscape teams.
  • Apply CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) principles to enhance natural surveillance and deterrence in public and private spaces.
Project Coordination & Compliance
  • Review and comment on contractor submissions for compliance with Employer’s Requirements and security strategies.
  • Advise on relevant codes, standards, and regulations applicable to built environments.
  • Engage with client representatives, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to validate security solutions.
Implementation Support
  • Provide technical oversight during construction to ensure correct implementation of security systems.
  • Support commissioning, testing, and handover of security systems.
What do we need from you
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in security consultancy, with at least 5 years in STRA and built environment security design.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering security designs for large‑scale developments and high‑security sites.
  • In‑depth knowledge of:
    • ISO 31000 (Risk Management)
    • ISO 22341 (Protective Security for the Built Environment)
    • ASIS CPP / PSP guidelines
    • CPTED principles.
  • Proficiency in producing technical specifications and reviewing design packages.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
