Job summary

SSMC in Abu Dhabi invites a qualified podiatrist to join the department, providing safe, evidence-based podiatry services and assisting in surgeries, prescribing orthotics, and applying therapeutic treatments. You will manage supplies, coordinate with senior staff, participate in budget discussions, document patient interactions, and contribute to strategies that improve patient care.

We require a BSc or 3-year certificate in Podiatry with current national license; MSc preferred and may shorten

• BSc or 3-year Certificate in Podiatry from an accredited program or equivalent.
• Current National license.
• MSc in relevant clinical field (will reduce 1 year from the required years of experience).

Responsibilities

• Maintains inventory of materials and equipment for duties.
• Reports shortages and orders replenishments as needed.
• Assists in minor surgery and diabetic wound management.
• Documents patient interactions per Medical Record policies.
• Ensures safety and quality control programs are followed.

Job Description

Responsible for providing safe, effective, evidence-based and comprehensive podiatry services. The employee will be responsible for assisting in the surgeries, prescribing orthotics and applying therapeutic treatments.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment for performance of duties
• Reports shortage of materials to supervisor at the earliest convenience, ordering and approving replenishments when necessary
• Monitors and orders appropriate materials/equipment following discussion with senior
  staff
• Assists in the budget depending on delegation of in section/department
• Provides all administrative work related to the daily operation of the podiatry department
• Participates in developing future strategies for the benefit of Hospital patients
• Assists in minor surgery, Diabetic wound management and assessment
• Participates in the Bio mechanical assessments and production of orthotic devices and patient treatments which includes Children's Foot Health
• Compiles Record daily statistics regarding hours worked and consultations performed, and forward monthly to the rehabilitation Department Head
• Assists in the medication for topical use as per the podiatry pharmaceutical list agreed by the podiatry task force
• Assists in surgery procedures as requested.
• Manages and documents all patient contacts as required by the Medical Record Documentation policy, using the computer as appropriate.
• Ensuring compliance with all safety and quality control programs and procedures as applicable

Accountabilities

• Ensure all documents and all interventions are in the appropriate format
• Ensures patient receives the highest standard nutrition services and care.

Qualifications

Experience :- Educational Qualification: Required:

• BSc or 3-year Certificate in Podiatry from an accredited program or equivalent.
