Job summary

Wood in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced PMC Specialist Static & Packages Engineer to lead and coordinate engineering activities for major oil and gas projects. You will ensure compliance with ADNOC standards and manage technical reviews, interfacing with IPMT, ADNOC Engineering, Operations, and EPC Contractors to resolve issues and secure quality delivery.

The role requires deep mechanical static equipment expertise, leadership of multi-disciplinary teams, and the ability to drive

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 15+ years of oil and gas industry experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with international codes and standards.
  • Ability to make independent decisions in planning and coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate mechanical static equipment design and engineering with EPC Contractor.
  • Review and approve work to ensure ADNOC standards compliance.
  • Lead technical reviews of Mechanical Static deliverables.
  • Interface with IPMT, ADNOC Engineering/Operations/Site Interface.
  • Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
  • Report to Discipline Team Leader and Engineering Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced PMC Specialist Static & Packages Engineer with a proven track record in leading and coordinating engineering teams to ensure the successful planning, execution, and completion of technical projects for a high-profile client.

Job Description

This role involves providing technical expertise in all mechanical static equipment design, ensuring design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards, coordinating with EPC Contractor and other disciplines, and overseeing technical reviews of deliverables. The incumbent will work closely with IPMT, ADNOC Engineering, Operations, Site Interface, and project management to resolve technical issues and ensure quality discipline engineering execution and integrity.

Job Objective
  • Provide technical expertise in all mechanical static equipment design
  • Ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards
  • Coordinate, monitor and handle static equipment design and engineering with EPC Contractor as per project expectation and complete the same within the time frame
  • Work with other discipline engineers within IPMT, EPC Contractor, ADNOC Engineering/Operation/Site Interface to resolve technical issues and ensure quality discipline engineering execution and integrity
  • Perform regular and timely technical reviews of Mechanical Static Engineering deliverables developed by engineering consultants/contractors, ensuring design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices
Responsibilities
  • Ensure integration of overall Mechanical Static Engineering. Overall coordination within IPMT Mechanical Static Engineering Team
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of Engineering Consultant’s & EPC Contractor’s Mechanical Static Engineering design activities
  • Review and approval of Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor’s work and ensure compliance with ADNOC project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices
  • Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models. Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation
  • Participate in teams for equipment sizing / equipment selection considering optimization and standardization
  • Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects
  • Ensure full utilization of the existing facilities while optimizing the facilities required for the new projects
  • Participate in layout reviews, model review, design reviews, and technical workshops
  • Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers
  • Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation
  • Provide technical assistance during installation, pre‑commissioning & commissioning
  • Report to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and provide support to Project Managers and Engineers within the Project Management Team organization
  • Interface with Managers, Team Leaders and Engineers in Company's Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations Units, and Logistics Department
  • Interface regularly with Contractor’s Engineering and Project Management team and discipline engineers as and when required
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills
  • Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards
  • Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software
  • Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems
