Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Supervisor -E&I for ADNOC Onshore projects in Abu Dhabi. The role requires overseeing construction activities, coordinating EPC contractors, and ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, safety, and project schedules.

Ideal candidates have 10–15 years in pipeline construction within oil and gas, with PMC or client-representative experience and ADNOC Onshore exposure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.
  • 10–15 years of pipeline construction experience in oil and gas projects.
  • Minimum 5 years in a PMC or client representative role.
  • ADNOC Onshore project experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME B31.4/B31.8 and API standards.
  • ADNOC Onshore specifications, pipeline welding and NDT requirements.
  • Hydrotesting and commissioning procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate and monitor construction activities by EPC contractors per ADNOC standards and project schedules.
  • Act as PMC site representative to ensure safe, efficient, and quality execution.
  • Coordinate FEED/EPC contractor activities from construction through commissioning.
  • Review construction/installation plans and ensure constructability and compliance with EPC scope of work.

Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Construction Supervisor -E&I with extensive experience in the oil and Gas industry for ADNOC Onshore client to be based in Abu Dhabi within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business.

Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be based at onshore site in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Role

To supervise, coordinate, and monitor all construction activities executed by EPC contractors ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, approved drawings, HSE requirements, quality procedures, and project schedules. The Construction Supervisor acts as the PMC representative at site to ensure safe, efficient, and quality execution of construction works.

Responsibilities
  • To facilitate and formulate Construction Supervision, management, coordination, administration and strict enforcement of the Construction scope included as part of FEED/EPC Contract in line with Client's objective of progressing Work Order completion timely and to project schedule
  • Coordination of the FEED/EPC Contractor from construction through commissioning and handing over of FEED/EPC works
  • Review and provide input to the overall construction/installation plan, procedures and construction/installation requirements identified in the EPC Packages developed by FEED contractor to ensure efficient constructability
  • Ensure the construction/installation plan, procedures and requirement developed by EPC contractor comply with the EPC Scope of Work intent and requirements.
  • Coordinate and assist fabrication works at EPC contractor’s or EPC contractor's subcontractor’s fabrication facilities
  • Supervise, monitor and inspect the work EPC contractor and EPC contractor’s subcontractors at the construction location (or place of manufacture where applicable) in accordance with ADNOC Onshore policy for supervision, quality assurance, control and inspection for the project.
  • Maintain EPC contractor’s adherence to safety, quality and schedule requirements for construction.
  • Participate in identifying Construction slippage and recommend corrective action(s) to be performed by EPC contractor
  • Provide construction input to estimates as and when required
  • Review design documents and provide constructability input to designs
  • Undertake visits to facilities/sites to support the development of construction activities, review designs and liaise with EPC Contractor or EPC Contractor’s Subcontractors
  • Identify any Specialist Vendor Support, Tools and Equipment required to implement scope
  • Interface with ADNOC Offshore’s Operations groups as & when necessary
  • Taking part in site surveys and generation of reports where required
  • Formulate Construction deliverables in line with Project procedures for content, and accuracy
  • Assist with construction input to Bid preparation
  • Development of Construction requirements for Bid estimates
  • Thorough working knowledge and experience of construction completion procedures & Pre-commissioning activities
  • Involved in Effective Change Management
  • Liaise closely with ADNOC Onshore PMT team on all aspects of design and technical data
  • Coordinate & carry out required timely Constructability reviews, in line with Model progression
  • Ensure the required Constructability Readiness reviews are addressed to suit the planned deliverables timing
  • Liaise strongly with Procurement team for materials & equipment deliverables for alignment to the overall project schedules
  • Coordinate with Project controls on the progress of work order issuance, and proposed completion dates
  • Participate in HSE improvement activities, promoting HSE elements throughout construction development wherever possible
  • Full working knowledge of construction activities in relation to the relevant discipline
  • Ability to review engineering design drawings and challenge work content for any improvement / cost effective methodology that can be adopted without compromise to safety.
  • Also to be able to challenge engineering detail for possible areas of where hot work can be reduced/minimized.
