Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Lead Electrical Engineer in Abu Dhabi to lead all electrical engineering activities for major projects, ensuring safe, reliable, and fully compliant systems from design through handover.

You will provide technical leadership to engineers, EPC contractors, and stakeholders, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-profile, energy-efficient electrical solutions for our clients and projects worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Engineering Management, or Project Management preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) highly desirable.
• PMP or other project management certifications advantageous.
• Minimum 15+ years of electrical engineering experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, Refinery, Power, Energy, or Infrastructure.
• Minimum 5–10 years in a lead or senior electrical engineering role on major projects.
• Proven PMC, EPC, Owner's Engineer, or Engineering Consultancy experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all electrical engineering activities through FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to electrical engineers, EPC contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Review, evaluate, and approve deliverables: SLDs, Load Lists, Power System Studies, Electrical Layouts, Cable Routing, Equipment Specs, Earthing/Lightning.
• Ensure compliance with project specs, international codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead design reviews for HV, MV, and LV power systems.
• Review studies including load flow, short-circuit, motor starting, protection coordination, harmonics, and arc flash.
• Coordinate electrical activities with mechanical, process, piping, civil, structural, instrumentation, and telecom disciplines.

The Key Objective For This Role Is
The PMC Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading and managing all electrical engineering activities to ensure the successful delivery of electrical systems that are safe, reliable, efficient, and fully compliant with project requirements, industry standards, budget constraints, and schedule commitments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all electrical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from FEED and detailed engineering through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to electrical engineers, EPC contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Review, evaluate, and approve electrical engineering deliverables, including:
• Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
• Load Lists
• Power System Studies
• Electrical Layouts
• Cable Routing and Schedules
• Equipment Specifications
• Earthing and Lightning Protection Designs
• Ensure all electrical designs comply with project specifications, international codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead the design review and approval process for HV, MV, and LV power systems.

Expected
