Job summary

Wood is currently recruiting an experienced PMC Civil Engineer for ADNOC Onshore in Abu Dhabi. The position will be based full time at the ASAB site, supporting civil design and project delivery within a major energy project.

The role requires a BSc in Civil Engineering with at least 10 years in oil and gas, strong communication and teamwork, and knowledge of international codes. You will mentor junior engineers and help drive planning, safety, and design integrity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in oil and gas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills
  • Experience and knowledge of international codes and standards
  • Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software
  • Ability to make independent decisions in planning and coordinating to develop solutions

Responsibilities

  • Undertake Civil design work of units as required, supervise and check works of assigned engineers on the project as appropriate
  • Execute Civil engineering activities within the budget and schedule, ensuring technical integrity
  • Ensure detail design methods and data conform to Client requirements and issued standards
  • Be competent in the use of relevant software and instrumentation/controls discipline software
  • Review and approve Civil Diagrams, P&IDs, CSFS, DPTDs, Equipment & Civil specifications
  • Review dynamic and transient studies including MDMT and surge analyses
  • Review depressurization studies and flare system design for safety and compliance
  • Ensure high standards of safety, QA procedures and environmental controls
  • Participate in client meetings, mentoring junior engineers, and reporting progress
  • Assist in planning packages, scheduling, and weekly reporting
  • Support pre-commissioning, commissioning procedures and operating manuals

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that detail design methods, standards and data used conform with Client's requirements and / or those issued
  • Competent in the use of relevant software and Instrumentation & Control discipline specific software.
  • Review and approve Civil Diagrams, P&IDs, PSFS, DPTDs, Equipment & Civil specifications, Structural Descriptions, cause, and Effect chart etc.
  • Review and approve dynamic simulation study, transient study, surge study,Minimum Metal Design Temperature (MDMT) study, etc.
  • Review and approve depressurizationstudies, flare load estimation and flaresystem design
  • Ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed
  • Review and approve safety related calculations and provide input to HAZOP, SIL and other safety reviews as require
  • Identifying new methodology of work instrumentation required for higher productivity
  • Contribute where necessary to review of supplier quotations and reviews of the project
  • Ensure that requirements of Licensor's Secrecy Agreements are known and complied within the work performed
  • Participate in technical meetings and handle discussions with client engineers
  • Identification of issues that impede project progress and reporting to Project Managers, Engineering Manager / Discipline heads
  • Be willing to mentor and engage in the training and development of junior engineers in the team
  • Assist project team in the preparation of planning package, scheduling, weekly reporting etc.
  • Assist as required in the preparation of pre - commissioning, commission procedures and operating Manuals
  • Provided assistance in Manhours estimation and scheduling for proposals
