Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Planning Manager based in Dubai to lead the development, control and integration of master schedules for large residential and mixed-use developments. You will establish baselines, monitor progress, and drive schedule-driven decision making across design, procurement and construction.

The role requires 10+ years in planning and scheduling with regional experience, ideally in heritage/hotels/master planning projects, and may benefit from Arabic language skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction management or civil engineering.
• Membership/chartership from a construction related professional body.
• 10+ years in planning and scheduling with heritage/hotels/master planning/museum/cavilion projects, 5+ years in the region.
• Arabic language skills an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, maintenance and control of integrated master schedules for residential developments, including villas, townhouses, apartment buildings, infrastructure, and landscape works.
• Establish project baselines covering design, procurement, construction, testing, handover, and close-out phases.
• Monitor progress against approved schedules, identify risks, delays, and critical path impacts, and propose mitigation and recovery measures.
• Review contractor and consultant programmes, progress reports, recovery plans, and schedule submissions for compliance with objectives and contractual requirements.
• Prepare and present weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, KPIs, forecasts, and executive updates.
• Implement project controls processes, including progress measurement, forecasting, Earned Value Management (EVM), and performance analysis.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders to align schedules and milestones.
• Support EOT evaluations, schedule impact assessments, and change control processes.
• Develop and standardize planning procedures, reporting tools, templates, and governance frameworks across the programme.
• Lead and mentor planning teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables and consistent project controls practices.
• Monitor critical design approvals, procurement, permits, and construction activities to ensure timely delivery.
• Provide strategic planning support to senior management and contribute to large-scale residential and mixed-use developments.

• Support claims management, Extension of Time (EOT) evaluations, schedule impact assessments, and change control processes.
• Develop and standardize planning procedures, reporting tools, templates, and governance frameworks across the programme.
• Lead and mentor planning teams, ensuring high-quality planning deliverables and consistent project controls practices across all projects.
• Monitor critical design approvals, material procurement, authority permits, and construction activities to ensure timely project delivery.
• Provide strategic planning support to senior management and contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale residential and mixed‑use developments.

About you

• Ideally you should possess a degree in construction management and / or civil engineering and hold a membership/chartership from a construction related professional body.
• Should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in planning and scheduling with good track record of working on heritage/ hotels/master planning/ museum / cultural / pavilion projects, ideally with minimum 5 years' experience working in the region.
• Arabic speaking and writing an advantage.
