Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Review baseline schedule and report to the Controls Manager.
  • Monitor contractor progress against approved schedules and report shortages.
  • Review recovery schedules and ensure adequate manpower and supervision.
  • Visit project sites to verify progress and report deficiencies.
  • Review daily/weekly/monthly reports and report deficiencies.
  • Assess time-impact claims and report assessments.
  • Review field design changes and assess time impact.
  • Advise on foreseen slippages and corrective actions.
  • Attend weekly progress meetings and assist with monthly reports.
  • Review commissioning plans for compliance with baselines.
  • Participate in Close-Out Reports review with PMC staff.

Job Description

The Planning Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and controlling the project schedule to ensure timely delivery in line with client requirements. The role involves monitoring progress, identifying risks and delays, and coordinating with contractors and stakeholders to maintain alignment. They assess the impact of changes, implement recovery strategies where required, and provide clear, accurate reporting to senior management and the client. Ultimately, the Planning Manager ensures the project remains on track from a planning and scheduling perspective.

Responsibilities
  • Review/comment the Baseline Schedule and other schedule and report to the Controls Manager.
  • Review and continuously monitor, against approved schedules, the Contractor’s major construction progress and ensure equipment and manpower are adequate or in case of any shortage report toControlsManager.
  • Review in detail the recovery schedules as submitted by the Contractors and ensure manpower and site supervision staff are increased properly.
  • Regular visits to project sites to validate whether the progress of work onsite is in compliance with approved schedules, major milestones have been met and report deficiencies to Construction Manager.
  • Review all daily, weekly and monthly reports as submitted by Contractor and report toControls Manager any deficiency or non-compliance.
  • Review any claim involving time impact as submitted by the Contractor and report his assessment toControls Manager.
  • Review field design changes and Trend Notices and assess time impact if any.
  • Advise the Construction Manager of any foreseen slippage of progress and corrective actions to be taken.
  • Attend weekly progress meeting and monthly Executive meetings and participate in preparing the agenda.
  • AssistControlsManagers during the preparation of Monthly Progress reports and Monthly Executive Presentations.
  • Reviews the commissioning plans as submitted by the Contractor and ensure its compliance with the approvedBaseline schedule.
  • Participate with PMC staff in reviewing the Close-Out Reports as submitted bytheContractor.
Qualifications
  • Should be qualified Engineer BSc or higher.
  • A qualified Engineer with a minimum of12 to 15 years’ experience Planning works in similar Projects.
  • Must be fully conversant with Primavera, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, etc.
