Job summary

Careers International is seeking a Planning Engineer to lead the planning, design, and execution of cable systems for transmission networks and substations in the UAE. The role requires coordinating overhead and underground cables, with emphasis on planning, sequencing, and technical reviews.

The ideal candidate should have 4–5 years of hands-on experience in high- and medium-voltage cable planning, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with PSS/E, ETAP, CYME, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• 4–5 years of hands-on experience in planning, designing, and managing transmission and substation cable systems.
• Experience with high-voltage and medium-voltage cables.
• Strong knowledge of load flow, fault analysis, and network modelling.
• Exposure to PSS/E, ETAP, CYME, AutoCAD or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and design of transmission and substation cable systems.
• Develop routing plans, installation methods, and cable specs.
• Conduct load flow studies and fault analysis for optimization.
• Plan schedules and manage cable installation projects.
• Provide technical guidance on layouts, connections, and protection schemes.
