Job summary

A leading construction firm in Dubai is seeking a qualified Planning Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in Roads and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will develop project schedules, prepare reports, and collaborate closely with project teams while adhering to company policies. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, proficiency in Primavera P6, and a valid Dubai driving license.

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience in Planning Engineering in Roads and infrastructure work in the UAE.
  • Driving License is essential – Dubai experience is a MUST.
  • Fluent in English; French & Arabic speaking is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage planning tasks for multiple projects in compliance with contracts.
  • Prepare baseline programs and schedules.
  • Conduct project site inspections and prepare status reports.

Job description

Urgent Requirement: Addressing all planning requirements on assigned project, to meet the contractual obligations and to support project team to deliver the projects on time, and to develop strategies to cover all contractual obligations and to maintain company rights, and in accordance with the Company’s SHE&Q Policy. Responsible for preparing baseline program, schedules, milestone, deliverable as per the contract requirements.

Key Interfaces and Relationships
  • Close liaison with the Project Manager, commercial, estimation and site management.
  • Dealing with the client and the Engineer.
Decision Making Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the project manager, a high level of initiative, competence, assistance will be required.
  • Authority and duty to prevent, stop and report any unsafe act they observe in the course of their duties.
Operational Responsibilities
  • Having local experience in Roads and infrastructure projects including but not limited to earth work, sewerage, storm water, irrigation, duct works, potable water, road works and street lighting.
  • To prepare baseline program, schedules, milestone, deliverable as per the contract requirements.
  • To prepare project cash flow.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Coordinate with all project parties to collate project status report.
  • Prepare forecasts resulting from significant deviations from scheduled baseline.
  • Conduct regular project site inspection.
  • Provide assessment of extension of time.
  • Provide forensic planning & delay analysis.
  • Developing project master schedule, updating monitoring, and reviewing construction schedules, submittals, material delivery, procurement logs and daily follow‑up in addition to the necessary productivity measurement and associated corrective measures.
  • Participating in regular meetings with client and the Engineer representatives.
Compliance – Anti Bribery Commitment Responsibilities
  • Read, understand, adhere and comply with the information contained within the Colas Middle East Rules of Conduct, Colas Middle East Policies, and with any training or other anti‑bribery and corruption information given by the Management.

  • Report all unsafe situations to management.
  • Report all incidents and damage to management whether persons are injured or not.

ROADS, INFRASTRUCTURE & UTILITIES EXPERIENCE is a MUST
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • English speaking.
  • French & Arabic speaking an advantage.
Experiences & Achievements
  • 5 years’ experience in Planning Engineering in Roads and infrastructure work in the UAE.
  • Excellent knowledge in Primavera P6.
  • Driving License is essential – Dubai experience is a MUST.
