Job summary

GCG Engineering Services is seeking a Pipe Fitter with Oil & Gas experience to read isometrics, P&IDs, and specs, and to install and align piping systems on site in Abu Dhabi. You will work with welders, riggers, and supervisors to ensure quality and safety.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in piping in the O&G sector, with ITI or related education and strong knowledge of ASME/ANSI/API standards. On-site duties include compliance, testing support, and issue reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years as a Pipe Fitter in Oil & Gas.
• ITI or relevant educational background.
• Familiar with ASME, ANSI, API standards and project piping specs.
• Knowledge of piping materials, fittings, valves, and fabrication techniques.
• Strong knowledge of piping installation practices.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret piping isometrics, P&IDs, GA drawings, and specs.
• Measure, cut, bevel, align, fit-up and assemble piping components.
• Prepare pipe spools for welding and ensure correct alignment.
• Install carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy piping systems.
• Perform butt weld, socket weld, threaded, and flange connections.
• Coordinate with welders, riggers, and supervisors to complete activities.
• Conduct visual inspections and ensure compliance with codes.
• Assist hydrotesting, flushing, pneumatic tests and commissioning.
• Report material shortages and construction issues.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety on site.
• Follow HSE policies and permit-to-work procedures.

Job Description

• Read and interpret piping isometric drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, and construction specifications.
• Measure, cut, bevel, align, fit-up, and assemble pipes, fittings, valves, flanges, and supports according to project requirements.
• Prepare pipe spools for welding and ensure proper alignment and dimensional accuracy.
• Install carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and other piping systems.
• Perform fit-up activities for butt weld, socket weld, threaded, and flanged connections.
• Mark reference points and dimensions on piping components.
• Install pipe supports, hangers, guides, and anchors as per approved drawings.
• Coordinate with welders, riggers, and supervisors to complete piping activities efficiently.
• Conduct visual inspections of fit-up and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Assist in hydrotesting, flushing, pneumatic testing, and commissioning activities.
• Identify and report material shortages, defects, and construction issues.
• Maintain housekeeping and ensure work areas remain clean and safe.
• Follow all HSE policies, permit-to-work requirements, and site safety procedures.
