Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement policies and practices for the department reflecting the school's vision and high standards
• Establish, monitor and evaluate short-, medium- and long-term plans for department development
• Use data to identify underachieving students and implement action plans
• Analyse school data to inform policies and SEF writing for the department
• Develop and regularly review schemes of work for all year groups, including SEN/POD, G&T and EAL
• Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression for all students
• Set staff expectations for achievement and learning quality
• Evaluate teaching quality and identify areas for improvement
• Support CAS Programme and Booster/Revision sessions for I/GCSE and IB DP courses
• Performance manage the department staff and manage resources efficiently
• Maintain department budgets and utilise accommodation to enhance learning environments
