About The Role

We are expanding our Dubai team and seek a Dry Cargo Ship Broker with proven experience in any vessel size. Ideal candidates will have a successful broking background in dry cargo ship broking. You should be personable, tenacious, a natural networker, and proactive in generating leads and securing new business.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Promote FIS as a company, providing market intelligence and analysis to clients.
  2. Maintain and strengthen existing client relationships through regular contact and tracking daily trading activities.
  3. Drive revenue growth and develop the client base.
  4. Align with the team’s business strategy and identify new business opportunities related to market trends, products, and clients.
  5. Conduct market analysis, offering insights and trade ideas to clients.
  6. Handle daily price discovery, dissemination, and matching.
  7. Create and write daily market reports as needed.
  8. Identify and introduce new clients, maintaining professional relationships.
  9. Perform any other duties as required by the company.

Risk-Related Responsibilities:

  1. Support a risk and compliance-aware culture, adhering to FIS policies.
  2. Ensure awareness and compliance with internal policies relevant to the role.

Training & Development:

  1. Seek regular feedback from the Desk Head to meet role requirements.
  2. Complete mandatory training within deadlines.
  3. Maintain ongoing professional development (CPD).

Minimum Requirements:

  • Successful track record in dry cargo shipbroking.
  • Strong client focus; personable and engaging.
  • Good understanding of dry cargo markets.
  • Experience with Handymax / Supramax or Panamax vessels.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Tenacious, able to work under pressure.
  • Team-oriented, collaborative.
  • Excellent attention to detail; strong analytical skills.
  • Willingness to travel and attend client events.
