Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receive prescriptions from customers and verify accuracy of dosage instructions.
• Dispense medications according to prescriptions, including correct dosage amounts.
• Advise customers on the selection of over-the-counter drugs according to symptoms.
• Answer customer questions regarding side effects, proper storage and usage instructions for medications.
• Ensure correct labeling of medication containers with patient information, drug name, dose and directions for use.
• Monitor inventory levels of drugs in the pharmacy; restock shelves as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions involving the sale or return of medications.
• Follow all safety procedures when handling hazardous materials such as drugs or cleaning products.
