Job summary

A leading government healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking a qualified Pediatric Surgeon to join its surgical team. The successful candidate will provide specialized surgical care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents, addressing congenital abnormalities and pediatric surgical conditions while managing emergencies.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent)
• Postgraduate qualification in Pediatric Surgery
• Internationally recognised qualifications (e.g., UK CCT/CCST, American Board, Canadian Board, Australian Board, South African Board)

Responsibilities

• Assess and surgically manage congenital and acquired pediatric conditions.
• Perform procedures according to specialty and scope of practice.
• Manage pediatric surgical emergencies and coordinate urgent interventions.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care and long-term follow-up.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, anesthesiologists and ICU teams.
• Clearly communicate treatment plans, risks and recovery expectations to families.
• Monitor outcomes and manage postoperative complications.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with safety, infection-control protocols.
• Participate in case reviews, teaching and continuing medical education.
