Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma in Healthcare Assistance
• Nursing assistant certification (if applicable)

Responsibilities

• Assist pediatricians and nurses in providing care to infants, children, and adolescents during outpatient visits.
• Prepare examination rooms before patient appointments.
• Measure and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiratory rate, blood pressure, height, weight, and head circumference (for infants).
• Support patient assessment by collecting basic medical history from parents or caregivers.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of medical information.
• Provide age-appropriate comfort to children to reduce anxiety during consultations.
• Assist with specimen collection and transportation as directed.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for examinations, immunizations, and minor procedures.
• Assist with vaccinations, dressings, wound care, and other outpatient procedures.
• Educate parents and caregivers on basic health, hygiene, and follow-up care.
• Monitor patients in waiting areas and report concerns to the team.
• Maintain cleanliness and infection prevention in the clinic.
• Ensure adequate stock of medical supplies and report shortages.
• Support referral processes and coordination of follow-up appointments.
• Respond to pediatric emergencies while seeking immediate assistance.
