Job summary

Art Village Nursery seeks a Health and Safety Officer/Nurse to ensure a safe emotional and physical environment for children and staff. You will perform risk assessments, provide medical care, and maintain health policies in line with DHA, KHDA, and Ministry guidelines.

You will oversee health checks, medical records, and staff training, collaborating with the principal to prepare emergency plans and support parents when needed.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English is required.
• Knowledge of communicable and childhood diseases; child safety protocols.
• Problem-solving skills; confidentiality and understanding of child information sharing.
• Collaborative team player; flexible and resilient under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of medical care for children in the setting.
• Give medical support to personnel within the setting.
• Keep medical records for all children and perform regular check-ups.
• Record accidents in the log and notify parents if needed.
• Conduct medical examinations for unwell children and isolate them.
• Administer daily medicines as prescribed and record administration.
• Carry out first aid for children and staff as required.
• Support emergency preparedness and plan with the principal.
• Maintain clinic stock and ensure cleanliness and high hygiene standards.
• Train staff on allergies and major medical conditions.
• Provide health, safety, and nutrition information to parents.
• Assess developmental skills with the principal and teachers.
