Job summary

Kings College Hospital Dubai seeks a Paediatric Manager to lead the nursing and operations across Paediatric ICU and HDU, Liver Transplant, IPD, OPD and satellite clinics. The role reports to the DCNO of Women’s and Children’s services and focuses on high-quality, patient-centered care.

The position requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a current DHA nursing licence or eligibility, and at least five years of leadership experience managing a nursing team in a fast-paced paediatric

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
• Current valid DHA nursing licence or eligibility for DHA registration.
• Minimum five years’ recent experience of managing a team of Nurses
• Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to guide, supporting, and managing staff.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.

• Provide visible clinical nursing leadership across the Paediatric OPD Institute.
• Lead and manage the Paediatric service within the division, coordinating with consultant medical staff and nursing team.
• Develop staff engagement and organisational development, and manage risk.
• Deliver performance against financial, activity, quality and workforce targets.
• Establish care pathways and protocols to improve patient outcomes and reduce lengths of stay.
• Conduct appraisals and implement development plans for direct reports.
• Review patient feedback and monitor KPIs as set by the Chief Nursing Office.

Job description

Reporting to the DCNO, of Women’s and Children’s services, the Paediatric Manager is responsible for providing a high level of leadership management to the nursing and operations of the Paediatric Service line, to ensure clinical and operational processes are developed and implemented within Paediatric ICU and HDU, Paediatric Liver Transplant Program, Paediatric Inpatients, Paediatric Outpatients, and our satellite schools’ clinics.

Responsibilities

• The Paediatric Manager is responsible for providing a high level of leadership management to the nursing and operations of the Paediatric Service line, to ensure clinical and operational processes are developed and implemented within Paediatric ICU and HDU, Paediatric Liver Transplant Program, Paediatric Inpatients, Paediatric Outpatients, and our satellite schools’ clinics.
• The Paediatric Manager is responsible for providing professional management support to the Paediatric Service Line, working collaboratively with the Clinical Directors and Head of Department for Paediatrics.
• The Paediatric Manager will provide operational management of the PICU, Paediatric Liver Transplant, Paediatric IP and Paediatric OPD and school services including the delivery of performance against financial, activity, quality and workforce targets as well as supporting the development and delivery of service strategy, staff engagement, organisational development, and the management of risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide visible clinical nursing leadership across the designated OPD Institute, acting as a role model for professional practice, clinical standards, and patient-centred care.
• Lead and manage the service within the Paediatric division, whilst sustaining effective working relationships with consultant medical staff, and the nursing team ensuring that the operational requirement of the service is effectively managed and coordinated.
• Lead, manage, motivate, and develop staff within the Paediatric Service to effectively engage staff maintain the highest level of staff morale and create a climate within the services that is evidenced by high standards and openness.
• To develop patient-focused services, identifying future financial, capital and workforce requirements and ensuring that contractual and performance targets are met.
• To work with clinical colleagues in a shared-governance model, to establish and monitor protocols of care provision to deliver efficient and effective care pathways which improve patient outcomes and reduce lengths of stay.
• Undertake appraisal for own direct reports and ensure personal development plans are identified and implemented.
• Review all patient feedback and ensure KPIs are monitored as set by the Chief Nursing Office.
