Responsibilities

• Examine patients, take medical histories, address concerns and answer questions.
• Diagnose and treat injuries, illnesses and disorders.
• Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests; explain results to patients.
• Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, preventative healthcare and lifestyle changes.
• Update patient charts to reflect current findings and treatments.
• Design and implement treatment plans; prescribe medications or therapies.
• Explain medical procedures to patients and discuss options.
• Collaborate with nurses, assistants and other physicians; refer to specialists when needed.
• Ensure compliance with medical laws and regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
