Job summary

Government healthcare facility in the UAE seeks an experienced Specialist / Consultant in Pediatric Emergency Medicine (Western Qualified) to lead pediatric emergency care for infants, children and adolescents in a fast-paced ED. You will provide prompt assessment, stabilization and management of acute illnesses and injuries, with a focus on patient safety and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Recognized specialist qualification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or related pediatric emergency training.
• Western qualification or equivalent specialist credentials.
• Relevant postgraduate training and clinical experience in pediatric emergency care.
• Experience managing acute pediatric illnesses, trauma and life-threatening emergencies.
• Current professional registration and Good Standing Certificate.
• Eligibility for UAE licensing through DHA/DOH/MOHAP.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced emergency department and participate in shift duties.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage pediatric emergencies and acute illnesses.
• Stabilize critically ill or injured children and initiate emergency interventions.
• Manage pediatric trauma, respiratory distress, seizures, allergies and other urgent conditions.
• Perform emergency procedures within scope and privileges.
• Coordinate admissions, referrals, and transfers.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain medical records and adhere to protocols and patient safety standards.
