Job summary

Maseera in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Pediatric Emergency Specialist to provide comprehensive, timely, and evidence-based emergency medical care to pediatric patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies. Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage pediatric patients presenting to the Emergency Department with acute and emergency conditions.
• Perform rapid triage, clinical assessment, stabilization, and initiation of appropriate emergency treatment.
• Manage pediatric emergencies including respiratory distress, sepsis, shock, seizures, trauma, poisoning, dehydration, and acute infections.
• Perform and interpret relevant investigations, including laboratory tests, imaging, ECG, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Provide appropriate resuscitation and emergency interventions, including pediatric advanced life support when required.
• Recognize critically ill patients and coordinate timely admission, transfer, or referral to appropriate pediatric specialties or ICU.
• Prescribe medications and treatment plans according to established clinical guidelines and hospital protocols.
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and follow-up.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records and documentation.
• Work collaboratively with emergency physicians, pediatricians, nurses, paramedics, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in clinical handovers, morbidity and mortality reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety activities.
• Support teaching and supervision of junior doctors, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Participate in on-call and emergency department duties as required.
