Job summary

SEHA is seeking a Child Life Therapist to support emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and educational needs of hospitalized children and families in Abu Dhabi. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to reduce anxiety, prepare patients for procedures, and promote coping through therapeutic play.

The role emphasizes family-centered care, collaboration with doctors and nurses, and participation in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the pediatric patient and family experience

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience working with children in healthcare or pediatric settings.
• Experience in pediatric rehabilitation, education, or child development is preferred.
• Strong skills in therapeutic play and family-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial and developmental assessments of pediatric patients.
• Develop individualized care plans addressing emotional and developmental needs.
• Prepare children and families for procedures using age-appropriate education.
• Provide therapeutic play interventions to reduce stress.
• Coordinate recreational and developmental activities in pediatric units.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other professionals.
• Document assessments and progress in the electronic medical record.
