Job summary

Eaton Corporation in Dubai is seeking a PCBA Test Design Development Engineer to design, develop, and implement test solutions for printed circuit boards, including functional tests, flying probe, and in-circuit testing.

You will translate design requirements into manufacturable solutions, develop fixtures and test software, and collaborate with R&D and manufacturing to ensure quality and reliability of products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in PCBA test design development or similar.
• Experience with test strategies and fixture development.
• Knowledge of LabVIEW, TestStand, and CLD certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural test strategies for PCBs, including functional, flying probe, and in-circuit tests.
• Translate product design requirements into manufacturable test solutions with DFM alignment.
• Develop hardware and software test fixtures and automate tests.
• Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing to ensure product quality and reliability.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and contribute to project planning.

We are seeking a PCBA Test Design Development Engineer who will be responsible for PCBA structural test development and will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing test solutions for our printed circuit board products.

What you’ll do:

• Interaction with different R&D groups from across the company to develop structural test strategies for printed circuit boards including functional test, flying probe and in-circuit test platforms.
• Translate product design requirements into manufacturable solutions, ensuring Design for Manufacturing (DFM) alignment with R&D teams.
• Development of test fixtures both hardware and software including program development quotations, schedules, documentation, validation, and release to production. This will include the design of electronic circuits, wiring and test software to attain full test automation by using technical engineering skillset.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality and reliability of our products, contributing to deliver high-quality products to our customers using innovative engineering solutions to address complex challenges.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing including hands-on debug of test systems.
• Contribute to project plans by providing time-scale estimates using operational technical engineering excellence framework.
• Collaborate with various functional skills in overall printed circuit board, higher level assembly and system level test development planning and execution.
• Contribute to the company’s production engineering objectives regarding new product introduction, process improvement and lean manufacturing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in ElectricalBachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering / Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience working in PCBA Test Design Development Engineering or similar.

Skills:

• Proven track record in a test development environment including knowledge in bed of nails functional testing.
• Experience in developing Test strategy including test coverage calculation, test method/equipment optimization for quality and cost-effective test solution.
• Experience in LabVIEW programming- NI Teststand or LabVIEWhaving CLD certification and Teststand LabVIEW CVI would be an advantage.
• Strong understanding of Electronics Components
• Design and application experience of production test equipment.
• Experience of PCB design and assembly for test fixtures. IEC 60204-1 and IEC 61439 knowledge is an added advantage.
• Your drive, problem-solving abilities, and willingness to adapt can make a positive impression.
• Knowledge / experience of cellular manufacture, Lean Manufacturing, kaizen, and 5S would be an advantage.
• Experience in CAD/CAM tools for fixture design and simulation is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with In-Circuit test Equipment (Keysight 3070, Teradyne, Aeroflex, TRI) and Flying probe tester (Takaya / SPEA /SEICA) is desirable.
