Job summary

Ecojob in Abu Dhabi is seeking a skilled Pastry Chef to join the team and create a variety of desserts, pastries and baked goods. The candidate should have a minimum of 1 year of professional pastry experience and hold a Diploma/Certificate in baking, pastry or culinary arts.

Fluent English communication and the ability to work well with a team in a fast-paced environment are required along with knowledge of food safety practices. Immigrant candidates are welcome to apply as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in baking/pastry/culinary arts or equivalent
• At least 1 year of professional experience as Pastry Chef
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to take direction and work well with a team
• Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
• Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations

Responsibilities

• Preparing desserts, cakes, pastries, breads and other baked goods according to recipes
• Establishing portion sizes and preparing food items in accordance with menu specifications
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, quality control and sanitation standards at all times
• Checking freshness of ingredients before use
• Decorating cakes or other pastries for special occasions
• Creating new recipes or modifying existing recipes for cakes and other desserts
• Managing inventories of supplies needed for pastry production
• Preparing doughs and batters for cakes, cookies, pies, breads etc.
• Monitoring the temperatures of ovens, mixing bowls etc.
• Assisting with the preparation of other culinary dishes as needed
