Job summary

JobLeader in Umm-al-Qaiwain, UAE, invites an experienced Optometrist to join our vision care team. You will conduct eye examinations, diagnose conditions, and prescribe corrective lenses while delivering patient education and high-quality service.

The role includes supporting staff training, staying current with ophthalmic techniques, and contributing to patient safety. Competitive monthly salary, health insurance, on-site parking, and flexible working hours are provided.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher diploma in Optometry from a recognized university.
• Proven experience as an Optometrist or similar position.
• Excellent knowledge of ophthalmic optics and visual systems.
• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive vision care services including eye examinations, diagnosis, treatment, management of eye diseases, contact lens fitting, low-vision rehabilitation etc.
• Assess patients' ophthalmic conditions by administering specialized tests such as refraction tests, tonometry tests and slit lamp examination etc.
• Prescribe corrective lenses using lenses prescription such as eyeglasses or contact lenses or provide low vision aids when needed.
• Evaluate patient’s knowledge about their condition and provide appropriate education regarding further treatment or management of their condition as well as safety precautions when using corrective lenses.
• Maintain patient records within the practice information system.
• Assist with professional development training for staff members or other healthcare professionals in the region.
