Job summary

PPOAR in Umm-al-Qaiwain UAE is seeking an experienced Optometrist to join our team and provide comprehensive eye exams and quality patient care.

You will perform visual acuity, refraction, and ocular health assessments, maintain patient records, advise on eyewear, and educate patients about eye health. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Optometry and UAE licensure or eligibility; foreigners considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Optometry or equivalent from an accredited school of optometry
• Must be licensed to practice optometry in the UAE or willing to obtain license upon hire (for foreigners)
• Experience as an Optometrist is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams, including visual acuity, refraction, tonometry, and ocular health assessments
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of patient records
• Provide guidance and advice on eyewear selection
• Provide patient education on contact lenses, eyeglasses and other vision aids
• Educate patients about eye health and vision care options
• Consult with other medical staff to ensure proper care for patients
• Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies
