A detail-oriented and analytical fund accountant to join our fund administration team. The Fund Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for investment funds, ensuring accurate valuation of assets, reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of NAV reports. This role is critical in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the operational needs of the funds.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual Net Asset Valuations (NAVs) in accordance with the fund’s T&C’s.
- Maintain fund books and records in line with accounting standards and fund agreements.
- Monitor fund expenses and accruals, ensuring they are booked in accordance with the fund’s T&C’s.
- Perform reconciliation of bank accounts, portfolio transactions, investor activity, and GL balances to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and investor reporting, including review of fund financial reporting and coordinating on requests from auditors.
- Ensure accurate tracking and prompt disbursement of all fund-related expenses, maintaining alignment with accounting standards and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with custodians, auditors, and tax advisors to manage fund operations, support audit processes, and ensure accurate tax reporting in line with fund requirements.
- Perform reconciliations of transactions, valuations, and investment returns with investment managers and custodians and resolve any discrepancies.
- Manage and reconcile capital activity, including capital calls, distributions, and reallocations, ensuring precise investor-level accounting.
- Support the onboarding process for new funds, including fund set-up and preparation of required documentation.
- Ensuring the T&C’s and other documents are completed, filed and distributed as regulations require.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with internal controls and policies and ensure funds operate in accordance with regulations outlined by authorities.
- Resolve queries of internal stakeholders in fulfilling time-sensitive requests including data discrepancy/gaps.
- Assist with monitoring compliance requirements and compiling necessary documentation to meet regulatory reporting deadlines.
- Responsible for the precise and timely completion of all fund reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of Fund Administration experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (ACCA qualification is an advantage).
- Strong knowledge and understanding of investment products (Real Estate, Private Equity)
- Proficiency in fund accounting systems.
- Familiarity with IFRS, or other relevant accounting standards.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
